The Southern Pacific, "Zona sur", is extremely attractive, offers incredibly interesting and varied landscapes and is relatively in its infancy at a touristic point of view. The proximity to the border of Panama, the duty-free area near Golfito and the large areas of rainforest on the Osa Peninsula and on the adjacent mainland, make this a especially worthwhile trip. Corcovado National Park, together with the accompanying rain forests, the largest contiguous rainforest in Central America. In this section of the coast, you may look for the most pristine beaches of the Pacific, fantastic accommodations are available as starting points for exploring the nature.

Peninsula de Osa is a very popular destiny for nature lovers. The very nice people who live there, are happy to welcome the couple of tourists that arrive to the Hotels in this part of the country and on the peninsula.
Ojochal is on the southern pacific, near the Osa peninsula, on the Ballena coast. It is known for incredible ocean and mountain views, waterfalls, top rated restaurants and endless tour opportunities.
This is a small, family-run hotel located in the town (and at the beach), if you may call it “town”. The Posada is located on the sandy beach of Drakes Bay, amidst a private rainforest of 20,000 sqm. Life on Drakes Bay is a very peaceful transition, all people are friendly and happy to act as host for the few visitors from abroad.
The Luna Lodge is located on the Osa peninsula of Costa Rica, close to the national park Corcovado. The Lodge is a fantastic place for hiking tours, with the option of animal observation, for Yoga or enjoying a massage. It is unique throughout all of Costa Rica.
You must take a boat from Sierpe, a formerly quiet fishing village that is situated on the quiet waters of the Rio Sierpe. The boat ride is an adventurous affair. It takes about one and half hours until you reach the Casa Corcovado.
The Lapa Rios Lodge is the number one of the noble-lodges inside the rainforest of the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica. The lodge was created in complete harmony with the environment, the rainforest and the beaches.
Overall, the small hotel has only 8 rooms and one apartment, the room rates are very reasonable and adequate quality. Unfortunately, there is no restaurant here, but in the surrounding area you will find it quickly.
